Selfie Series
2009 -present Digital Photography Created as an homage to Warhol's Polaroid "self-portrait" photo series. Lee describes himself being sucked into the Facebook culture, and somewhat acquiring a love hate relationship with social media and the obsession with recording our every move. "I don't think we are any different than the period between 1958-1987 when Warhol made his Polaroids. Now we have Instagram. I don't think we can leave our home without our cell phones nowadays."
By commencing this collection of selfies , Lee made a lifelong goal to take a selfie with as many celebrity contemporary artists as possible before they die. (Lee then coughs out the name, Pollock) |

意 興 Curiosity #1
2011 攝影 Digital Photography 121.92cm x 162.56 or Dimension variable ------------------------------------ ****EXHIBITED
-------------------------------------------- What is curiosity? Is it an energy? As humans, we are always curious. But in "Curious#1" I am not so much concerned about the human action, movements or facial expressions of someone acting out curiosity, but merely how curiosity can be translated from thought to energy and how one can capture that energy in its rawest and most organic form. If we can see curiosity, will it have a color? Will it look like this? I'm not so much concerned with ingraining what curiosity should look like, but more interested in sparking a conversation with the idea of getting the audience to think for themselves. People can say, "You could have taken any photo and called it curiosity." I'd say, "No, because while capturing the image, I believe in also tainting the work with the honest physical energy itself. Like theater acting, one must "not act" but "be" to play the character to its most authentic form. I think it goes without saying that "with artistic honestly, can one truly create authenticity." When you are curious, are you immersed in this energy? If yes, how does your curiosity look like? |
紅州,藍州 Red State, blue state #1
2014 Mixed media, installation shot, Digital Photography 121.92cm x 162.56 or Dimension variable ****EXHIBITED
Visually, i felt that it was just so powerful. When i found these two empty bottles , i just knew i had to do something with them. Red states and blue states commonly refer to the separation between the Republican and Democratic Party in The "so-called" United States of America. Although this work is up to interpretation, viewers can say that the art installation depicts the constant tension between these two parties whilst presenting to the world the hypercritical side of how friendly and together these two groups really are. One might also see the erie allusion to the "Grady twins" from the Stanley Kubrick's hit 1980s horror film "The Shining." |

There always seems to be a mysterious aura that reflects off of this neighboring planet. The question of whether if America really sent Neil Armstrong to the moon back then still wanders in everyone's minds. Are there UFOs out there? What really goes on on the dark side of the moon? |
